Camping? Not quite

We are getting ready for VACATION!  Steve only has a few more days of work before he's off for the week.  I'm so very excited (as you can tell) because this family needs a vacation, even if we are not planning on traveling very far.

We have an open house scheduled toward the end of vacation and are working very hard to get this place ready for anyone that may show up.  Please cross your fingers and wish us luck.  The fire pit needed cleaned out because we haven't used it yet this year.  Steve suggested that we light a fire to help with the process, and I suggested setting up the tent for the boys to play in.

Not enough HOURS in the DAY

I swear my days are getting shorter and shorter even though I wake up earlier and go to bed later.  Between EVERYTHING that we have been doing for this house, the dead air conditioner, my savings blog, my facebook page, *trying* to be a group owner on Babycenter, and simply just being a mom and a wife to my kids is OVERWHELMING!  I get over 125 emails a day that I have to sort through and I'm falling behind on that.  Plus, I recently discovered that when I get stressed I clamp together my back teeth which gives me a headache!

Enough about that crazy life because the boys just went down for a nap and I have less than 2 hrs to run around here with my head cut off trying to accomplish everything else that needs to be done.  So let's just have some pictures of the boys, shall we?

Art Time

It's a picture of the park next to the lake.  Caleb calls it his "water park".

HOT & COLD

This week has been full of ups and downs. Seriously, it's only Thursday. I'm just ready for this week to end.

Brookfield Zoo

We took the boys to the brookfield zoo Monday. It was HOT, but we went early enough in the day that we managed to stay cool. I get the ultimate "rotten blogger award" because I forgot to bring my camera. I apologized over and over to Steve because he wanted some pictures of the boys.

We had a really nice time. Caleb's favorite was the dolphins and the seals. He loved to watch them underwater swimming past the glass. Kaysen loved the baby meerkats. You should of heard that little boy squeal with delight as he watched the little balls of fur run up and down the rocks.

Overall it was a very nice day!

Air conditioner

Plain and simple: It died. I have no idea what is wrong with it and we have an appointment for someone to come look at it tomorrow. I have my fingers crossed that it's repairable and I do not have to dish out a couple thousand for a house that I don't even want to keep. *sigh*

The weather was HOT these past couple of days. My poor kids were sitting in this house with a reading of 88 degrees. We were in the house all day long yesterday with no car to drive anywhere and no air. As soon as Steve got home from work we grabbed the boys and went out to eat and to the mall. Then today the temp dropped to under 55 degrees. Our bodies are just not meant to deal with such a temperature difference.

It gave all of us some sort of sickness. Steve is sleeping on the couch right now (and it's 8pm). Caleb fell asleep this evening watching Toy Story. Kaysen has had a very sick tummy. Remember, he's in underwear now and that does not mix with a sick tummy! We had 2 very bad accidents away from home over the past 2 days. The first time I had brought a change of clothes, but guess who forgot to add more clothes to the bag for the next day? Poor Baby. Let's just say that mommies take care of things, even when they are completely unprepared. Tonight he had a bad accident in his diaper before bed. That never happens. I don't think I've cleaned up a dirty diaper in MONTHS.

Speaking of diapers...

Kaysen is out of them for naps. We are only on day 2 but so far so good. We are not going back to them. He will wear them for night only until he's ready to move out of them for good. I'm so proud! He's not even 20 months old but he has this potty thing all together. Well, except for the recent poop incidents.

And the house...

Still up for sale and no views since we last talked about it. *sigh*

Lazy Saturday Afternoon

It's the end of another week.  I really don't have a set work week.  Steve's schedule is all over the place and it's hard to predict when his work week really ends.  I consider Saturdays to be the last day of the week.  Maybe because I work on coupon schedules and Sunday always marks the beginning of the sales.

Today was relaxing.  Steve didn't have to go into work until the afternoon so we had the entire morning to ourselves.  We took the boys for a nice, long walk down the bike trail and through the woods in their stroller.  We were only gone about an hour but it seemed like much longer.  We kept up the fast pace through it all and wore ourselves out.  I'm still exhausted!

Afterwards we came back and turned the sprinkler on for the boys.  I'll show you some pictures in a few.  I'm kicking myself in the butt for not buying another memory stick for my camera.  We have done so many nice things outside lately.  Going to the playground, the lake, and just family time outside.  At least I remembered to take some pictures today.

Kaysen did not like the sprinkler at all!  I remember last year Caleb didn't like it too much either.  But this year he had a blast.  He was a little hesitant in the beginning but quickly caught on to what he was supposed to do.

Steve left for work and I put the boys to bed for nap.  They slept for about 45 minutes and woke up.  I'm thinking it was just too hot in there for them.  I brought Kaysen back into his bedroom and we laid down together on the floor on top of a blanket.  Caleb sat down in the hallway (I couldn't get him to come back to bed) and all 3 of us fell asleep together for another hour.  It was nice just laying there with my boys.  A relaxing, lazy afternoon.
